how to set up your own facebook email address (anything@facebook.com)

Facebook has finally launched the "Facebook email address". Owning your @facebook.com address makes it easier for friends and family who are not on Facebook yet to connect with you, while also seeing everything you've ever discussed with each facebook friend as a single conversation.

I have set up mine: ( ogbongz@facebook.com) , you too can. It’s free and easy to set up.

To set up a free @facebook.com address, go to your Messages view and click the "Claim your Facebook email" link.

Your email address will match your public username, for example:

Profile: facebook.com/username
Email: username@facebook.com

If you don’t have a username yet, you can choose one when you create your email address.

Once you set up your email address, people can email you using any traditional email system (e.g., Hotmail, Yahoo or Gmail), and the emails will be delivered to your Facebook Messages. When you send messages to external email addresses, the emails will be formatted to look like Facebook messages, including your name, your profile picture and your message.

Once again, to set up yours, go to : http://www.facebook.com/?sk=inbox and click the "Claim your Facebook email" link.

That's all.

I hope this info helps....

Tried the link and it didn't work...the link just takes you to your news feed.

Before you can do what is written in the post, you must first request this feature my going to the following URL and selecting "Request Invitation":
http://www.facebook.com/about/messages/

If your invitation is accepted (as this feature is not open to everyone), then you can follow the instructions given in the post.

Hope this helps :)
